So getting your e-juice at a discount is great, but what if you wouldn't mind boxes of free e-liquid popping up randomly in your mail box?  That is definitely one way to make a bad day at least a little bit better and it lines up perfectly with our new tester program.  

The thing is that making a new flavor is not easy.  Here at RVJ we make an effort to be sure that our products meet certain standards: Safe, consistent, loved by customers.  Safety and consistency are handled on our end by careful quality controls like nicotine audits and standardized steeping, but loved by users can be difficult with no feedback.  Our solution is a flavor test program.  It is really simple:

• We come up with an awesome new flavor that we think is ready to go
• We choose 20 testers from the list to mail it to for free
• You try it and tell us what you think

So how do you sign up?  We will be launching a new page on the store where you can sign up to test flavors.  The page will be up by the end of this month, but if you don't want to check back but you do want to be at the top of the list let us know through email or our contact page . Best E-Liquid For A Happy 4th!

So every brand undoubtedly recommend's their own e-juice for every day, holiday or otherwise, and here at RVJ we are no exception.  Although we would love to say that our juice is the only juice we like or would recommend, that just isn't the case.  For the 4th of July we want to recommend a few flavors that are worth trying if you haven't yet and happen to get the chance.  Our brand new flavor, Fireworks, definitely makes the list, but first let's look at some other brands that anyone would love:

Formula by Juice Maniac

Available at http://www.juicemaniacvapor.com/formula/ , Formula from Juice Maniac is definitely one of our favorites.  The website describes it as a berry custard and from different people we hear different descriptions.  Some people have said they taste blueberry while other people say they taste pomegranate.  No matter what they say we haven't ran across anyone yet that says they don't like it.

Sucker Punch by Suicide Bunny

Sucker Punch is described by the website as a mixed fruit and cream flavor.  Available at http://www.vapordna.com/Suicide-Bunny-Sucker-Punch-p/sb0004.htm this flavor is definitely worth a try to anyone who enjoys custard or cream flavors.  Much like Formula, this flavor is complex and different people may taste more of certain notes than others.

Gravel Pit by CRFT

This one is an incredibly unique blend of sweet peach and guava.  Available at http://www.vapordna.com/CRFT-Gravel-Pit-p/cf0001.htm , this one got amazing reviews from customers and scored 4.5 out of 5 stars.  This one may be a little more difficult to track down with fewer shops carrying it to try, but it is available from several online stores.

Understanding Concerns About E-juice Manufactured In China

When looking for a new brand of e-juice a lot of vapers will run across the controversy over e-liquid manufactured in China or from ingredients in China.  While plenty of people have plenty to say, it is increasingly difficult to sort out speculation from fact.  Here at Royal Vape Juice we only use USP grade VG, flavorings, and PG.  Our nicotine is 99.9% pure pharmaceutical grade.  Have you ever wondered why so many brands go to such effort to make similar statements about their quality?  Or have you ever wondered exactly there is so much skepticism about e-juice from China (besides the nearly non-existent production regulations which the U.S. also mostly doesn't have)?  

First, why does anyone prefer Chinese E-Liquid?

E-juice and e-cigs from China have a major advantage: Price.  Manufacturers there have access to significantly less expensive food grade ingredients and other materials, never mind how cheap the cruddy stuff is.  Cheap materials, cheap labor, cheap facilities, and cheap shipping mean that they can charge consumers way less than U.S. brands.  This also means that vape shops and online stores nation wide can buy bulk and double their money and still charge less than sources that only sell juices or e-cigs that are made in the U.S.  

I'm not sure that any vaper reading this honestly doesn't want to save a buck, so that's exactly why those juices are SOOOOO tempting!

So are Chinese e-liquids really bad or not?  

The biggest factor that really confuses this issue is that all Chinese brands are NOT bad.  They regulate themselves and use quality ingredients.  Self-regulation can be a beautiful thing, but it isn't enough.  There has always been a large regulatory gap in Chinese and American manufacturing.  In fact, the NY Times did a great article and video that really illustrates the problem here .  Some main points:

• No regulations exist to prevent dangerous manufacturing practices in China.
• While some manufacturers regulate themselves others may purchase in bulk and then mix knockoffs from shady companies into the shipment to increase profit.
• While some companies may regulate themselves, if the materials they purchased to make their e-liquid was contaminated their e-juice will also be contaminated.
• They actually have found dangerous chemicals like those found in anti-freeze and up to 4 times as many carcinogens than are found in traditional cigarettes in e-juice and e-cigs made in China.

So what does it mean?

It means that while quality varies even in the U.S. and the long-term health risks of vaping have yet to be really established, if your juice is from China you run a higher risk of negative health effects.  The pricing may be tempting, but here at RVJ we recommend using only e-juice that is made in the United States, even if you don't pick ours.

Quick Intro To Juice Ingredients For Beginners.....

Everyone starts out as a beginner and it can definitely get overwhelming when you are first finding your favorite juices.  Some people go into a shop, take the recommended mod or pen, and pick a bottle of juice based on if it sounds like it should taste good.  Sometimes that works great and they become vapers for life, but when it doesn't work out it can be discouraging.  What happens when one vanilla flavor was great, but the one you picked tastes... Not so good?  What if your friend is over there chucking clouds but you barely get enough for one smoke ring?  Worse yet, what if you try to ask what happened and don't understand the explanation?

As your handy dandy vape dude I can help with that.  Here we are going to take a few minutes to talk about how juice ingredients will taste, feel, or produce different amounts of vapor.  If you are a beginner we here at RVJ hope this gets you where you want to be e-juice wise.  If you are more experienced we hope you will share some of your own vaping tips in the comments below.

VG/PG

VG stand for vegetable glycerin and PG stands for propylene glycol.  Both of these are common food sweeteners.  The ratio of VG to PG should be listed on the bottle of juice and will look something like 70/30 or 50/50.  VG produces more vapor and may be sweeter while PG tends to have more throat hit and is thinner.  Max VG flavors are often too thick to wick properly in smaller tanks like the EGO starter kit tanks, so if you try them beware of dry hits.  A dry hit happens because you vaped the juice faster than your tank was soaking it up or simply because you ran out....  Tastes and feels bad, beware!

Nicotine Levels

You will notice that your bottle should be clearly marked with a certain nicotine level such as 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, or 12mg.  Some may go up to 24mg, but past that may be dangerous.  This is not how much nicotine is in the entire bottle.  Rather, this is how much nicotine is present for ever ml of juice.  Higher nicotine levels may have more of a throat hit like a cigarette and they may have a huge impact on flavor.  A juice may taste entirely different at 3mg nicotine than it does at 6mg or even 12mg.  Here at RVJ we only use Nude Nicotine because they receive amazing reviews from users and so far none of us have detected any sort of unpleasant flavor.  Because we only use high quality nicotine we recommend users choose a higher level of PG for more throat hit rather than a higher level of nicotine.

Your Tank or RDA

When you pick your e-cig or mod you may be surprised to know that which one you choose will have a great impact on your flavor and vapor production.  Your hardware limits how much air will be pulled past the wick as well as how much juice will be on the coils to vape, so some hardware will naturally produce a stronger flavor than others just like some will produce more vapor.  Before you buy any hardware we recommend looking at user reviews or actually trying one out at your local shop.  Here at RVJ we are happy to talk hardware to make sure you get the products that are right for you.  We do not carry e-cigs or mods, but we can help you find what you are looking for elsewhere.

We sell e-juice.  We happen to make it ourselves with top quality ingredients.  We do not use any ingredient that contain diacetyl, a potentially dangerous compound that has been associated with popcorn lung and possibly lung cancer.  Safety and quality are our first priority.

Will Royal Vape E-Liquid Work With Your E-cig/Mod?

RVJ offers a wide range of blends from Max VG to 50VG/50PG.  What works best for you will vary, but as a rule if your device has a refillable tank or a dripper on it our juice will work.  If you have questions about which product options will work best please get in touch.  We are happy to make recommendations for either experienced vapers or beginners.
